"Un-Malaysian like Sebatian"

So, i am as un-Malaysian as Guy Sebatian. Uh-hum...Hmm, that rhymes.

I've been neglecting my blog for awhile. Nothing much to write about. Really. Or more like too lazy to write about something :)

So, what's been going on lately?

My one week sem break is over. Time to get adjusted. But for last week, i managed to intrude HELP's marketing lecture. I smuggled in with the help of Bee and Kwee. I brought my own work over there, did my own stuff.

Have to admit, i liked their seats though. Their lecture theatre is somewhat resembles a cinema seating concept. I like :)

Other than that, i've been trying to catch Nacho Libre but haven't had any luck. Things just keep getting delayed. Instead, i've watched Ant Bully, and Beneath Still Waters. And believe me, Beneath Still Water is NOT for the faint-hearted, big babies, or small kids.

Its really morbid and gory its just sick and freaky. Beneath Still Waters is really a horror film that should have remained underwater. We even walked out of the cinema with still half an hour to go for the show. Besides that, its boring and terrible. Not a very good show to watch. Not recommendable.

Anyway, here's just a brief synopsis of the movie;

Synopsis.

Based on a novel by Matthew Costello, the movie is set in a town that was submerged underwater, in an attempt to end the cult activity that thrived on the death and destruction of humans. Time passes, and the whispered secrets of the town have been long forgotten.

uh..dah mati.

But now, just before the 50th anniversary of the completion of the dam, the surrounding area is shocked by a mysterious death: a boy is torn apart by debris while diving in the lake. News reporter Teresa (Raquel Merono) and underwater photographer Dan (Michael McKell) don’t believe reports that the death was caused by sharks –– there’s something not right about that lake and it’s up to them to find out what.

And what they will soon find out is that the occult leader Salas (Patrick Gordon) has somehow risen from his sunken tomb and the town is now doomed to suffer the same fate as the one before it.

Directed by veteran horror director Brian Yuzna, Beneath Still Waters is slow and predictable with no surprises or twists at all.

End of Synopsis.

There is a fair bit of gore, for those into those kind of effects from severed body parts and decapitated heads to a face opened up from jaw to jaw and a crazy man sawing off his limbs. But, for those who consider this a good thing, they should also be warned that they will have to endure the annoying script and wooden acting for just a few minutes of blood-splattering action.

Its a pretty simple story, though. Forty years ago a town was overrun with occultists. So, how do the town’s people get rid of them?

Easy, build a dam next to the town and flood it so it never exists again. We now enter the present, or forty years later and a big town party is about to take place in celebration of the dam being built. Plans are being hampered, however, due to deaths taking place in the dam itself. Clara, the granddaughter of the previous mayor (who has just recently passed away), knows something is wrong with the town but can’t get her mother, Susana, to listen to her. The stranger, Dan knows something is wrong also but the police won’t listen to him. Instead he gets those worn out lines, such as “if I see you again in this town I will throw you in jail” and “I’ll let you do it but just for the record I don’t agree with you.”

Anyhow, one of the occultists, Salas, has come back from the dead and needs Clara to help him in his quest to take over the new town next to the flooded town. It’s up to the mysterious stranger to battle his own demons and save the town from the evil Salas. Typical.

One thing to note about this film; the accents in the film are absolutely atrocious. This is a Spanish film but done with English language. There are no sub-titles and no dubbing. I was trying to work out if the actors were South African, English, British American or Spanish. I mean well done to them for giving the English language a go, but I missed a lot of dialogue because every actor in the film had a different accent. It would have made the movie much more enjoyable if the actors spoke their native tongue and they put in sub-titles.

Oh, and..the evil antagonist drives a noticeable Mercedes Benz S-Class. Damn. Somewhat rich for someone who's dead for over 40 years.

So that pretty much wraps up about everything on horror flick, Beneath Still Waters.

Hee. Hee. Hee. I come for you.

Yesterday (Monday) i had an ISB assignment spreadsheet test. And i didn't even know about it. I messed up, and therefore, flunked it. This' what i get for slacking and not paying attention to important dates. The assignment isn't to say is hard, its FREAKING easy and straightforward. And i can still fail it. Imagine the embarassment.

Sure i had friends retaking the assignment, but not because the failed; they missed out on some parts. For me, i screwed the entire thing. My lecturer commented "i had the most errors."

So...screw it la i thought for that time. I just need to get home and practise on the assignment. I left Sunway with an unsatisfied feeling.

I went to Bee's house after that. And she cooked for me :) And she's not a bad cook either :)

Oh, and i'm feeling ji-wang. So what the heck.

Baby, i miss you :(

- take care and God bless, everyone.

- jW's.
