Sometimes... when you have nothing really good to watch, you simply pick a random movie.
Sometimes... that's a plain stupid thing to do.
Recall on last Friday (17/11/2006)-
Especially for our case; Aaron, Kirsty, their two other DU buds and I.
The five of us wanted to catch the 2.30pm show for Death Note. There weren't anymore tickets for that time, so we tried the 3.00pm one - no tickets.
the 5.00pm one? - no tickets.
So we tried our luck for the latest Bond flick - Casino Royale .
As expected, all showtimes in the noon were sold out or if not, the seats suck.
How now brown cows?
We decided to watch raindogs.
What's that?
I don't know. Some chinese flick, i know.
We inquired the guy behind the counter, and yea, he told us it was a cantonese show. We assumed it was some HK movie.
So yea, we bought the tickets.
5 of us, for the 3.15pm show. There were only THREE seats taken in the cinema when we bought it. Now, there's eight.
How come i've never heard of this movie before? If it was a Hk flick i would've heard of it before. Anyway, the first scene into the movie...
We see a one ringgit malaysian note being passed from hand to hand.
A local show! Hmm..i really thought it might be interesting.
But half an hour through the show, i nearly lost my patience.
The show is so annoyingly slow paced and dull. I nearly fell asleep. Camera-work is sluggish, the narrative meanders at a lethargic and sometimes irritating pace, and we have to tolerate a whole lot of irrelevant and pointless sequences, shot ostensibly to beef up the footage.
Like for example, as Aaron quoted, the scene showing some scenery for like what - 10-30 seconds? Totally pointless and boring. The one hour and 45 minutes ordeal felt like a 2 and a half hour one. The whole show was super draggy.
I'd rather watch senseless horror movies anytime.
Hee. Hee. Hee. I come for you.
Surprisingly, we stayed out through the entire show. Oh, wait, we didn't really exactly expected the show to end at that time. Why? Because it wasn't a real ending.
Do you understand what i'm trying to say? You would, if you'd watch it. Which, isn't a very good idea.
The ending works off this way - a scene showing a tree in a village for hmm..about 30 seconds and then the scene takes off to the credits. Uhh...what the hell?
I didn't even know what i was watching. That was one of the many totally irrelevant scenes in the movie. Others include kite-flying, scenes of fireworks and a snake scare in a farm. Intolerable.
6 ringgit malaysian wasted.
Don't buy the same tickets.
After the film ended, we were trying to make out the point of watching the show. Kirsty was somehow fascinated with the movie's theme - Odetta - Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child.
Somtimesss...people make stupid decisions in their life. zZzZz..
At night, i watched Accepted with Bee and her friends. At least it was something to look forward to.
Good S.H.I.T overall. Recommended if you really have nothing to do at the moment. Really.
- take care, and God bless, everyone.
- jW's.
