"Of Cars and Women"

"Of Cars and Women"

2nd June 2006 - Friday, i finally decided to drop by the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) to see the KL Motorshow '06 with my ex-college mates. Left after my class at 1.30pm; chowed home and then headed for the KJ LRT station to meet up w/ Aaron, ChoongKhin, GheeJune and lastly, Joe.

Upon arriving, a super large queue was in store for us. basket, tot it would be quite empty on a Friday afternoon. But anyway, since we're only paying 5 bucks for entry just for a look-see, guess it was alright. Besides, what's there better to do on a Friday afternoon besides seeing hot and exotics cars and (hot) chiqs :)

After 10-minutes of waiting in line we finally managed to get our 5-dollar entry passes. But somehow the wait didn't seem very long :) haha..people who went should know what i mean :)

There this competition going on between the car show models. There was this voting system for our "Favourite Brand Ambassadors" where we actualyl get to vote for who we like.

There were tv's screening all the models ranking from no.1 to God-knows-what number. THere must've been tons of models there :) (w00t)

Everybody were so busy ogling at the tv checking out the girls some even forgot that it was their turn to be at the counter. Haha..i find this somewhat..actually degrading for the models themselves.

I mean, imagine let's say..in college or university or even in high school. There was this popularity or lenglui/lengchai competition where ALL the students were involved ranking from number 1-xxx where xxx represents the amount of students in the college/uni/school.

Imagine the ego when you happen to be the top 5. Imagine the pain, embarrasment and the degradment when you happen to be the last (!(*(@#&(@*). It's just plain not right! There never should be a ranking sytem for such things.

Back to the Motorshow :) The first exhibit noticeable was the F1 car sponsodred by Bridgestone Motorsports sporting two *ahem* beautiful women posing by the F1 car. Tons of camera flashes go by as they snap picture after pictures of those two posers. I wonder how much they get paid by just standing there and posing for the opposite sex. Hmm..must've felt proud of the attention they're getting.

Moving on; same floor, heading deeper into the exhibit..

Proton - t' figures. One of the first few exhibits revealing their concept cars resulting due to their strategic alliance with Lotus. The end result - a not bad looking Proton product.

As you can see in the photo above, on the bottom right; there's ChoongKhin (in white), Aaron (in black), Joe and Kwee (together; Joe in white, and Kwee with folded arms in baby blue). Well , let's hope for the best for Proton in the future aights :) Hopefully they can put that car into production (though i doubt so) and put Proton one step ahead.

Anyway..moving on to other car exhibits... spouting Lotus' shitz..

The white one above is not one of Lotus' shitz..aaha..It's a Loremo according to the photo..and somehow it has something to do with Proton? The car doors are just plain weird and they space inside is just ...small.

See? The car is freaking low and small if bang lorry confirm gg. Anyway enough of that silly car - back to more Lotus' shitz.

We got bored of Proton and Lotus' shitz..so we headed to the next exhibit hall.

I heard Nissan models are popular among the guys...

See the 350Z model? Nice right? See the crowd around it? Haha..fine it ain't much but everyone loves a fairlady :)

Nice behind :)

Progressing further.. and we have the main exhibit for one of the Japanese participants for the KL Motorshow '06 - Nissan.

Their main attraction:their new 350z cabriolet-style and their new concept which looked rather good - a two-door hatchback sports.

So that concludes the Nissan exhibition. Again, we got bored of what we ere looking at and proceeded to the next exhibit - the pinnacle of German luxury.

Yea man! Brabus stuff! First thing noticeable was their giant-booth with a kafe-concept like. They serve coffee there but apparently it wasn't just for anybody... (buyers maybe)

Behold the ML350!

Everyone loves a CLS :)

The legendary S-Class - Brabus tuned!

SLK - nice ya? Check out these links:

So far Brabus appealed most to our interest. Moving on to next hall...

This' the Peugeot 407 coupe. ChoongKhin said he's seen one upclose and personal before - not in the motorshow. Not a bad looking car, but interior is dissapointing.

Peugeot girls dress kinda formal compared to the others. Anyway..next!

Typical Evo. 8. Eugene should've brought his one and show them whats A REAL EVO8! 400bhp hmm?

Moving on we have the Mazda exhibition on the same floor. Their highlight -

The Mazda CX-7 concept - a crossover between a SUV and a coupe. Supposingly be the Mazda counterpart for Nissan's Murano.

This model somehow is a left-handed. Interior's awesome! Lastly..of the Mazda exhibits..we have our..

Mazda6 - apparently there's a newer version of it retaining its appearance but differs in performance. The one here in the picture sports a dual exhaust system - whatever that is...ahah i don't know much about cars.

Next exhibit! Once again we got bored of Mazdas and Pegueots and Mitsubishis.

As you can see here, ChoongKhin is on the bottom left of the photo dressed in white. Haha.. the next hall as you can see is dominated by Toyota.

Anyway if you like huge cars..

Ford pickup concept. I think it looks good.

Toyota concepts -

I didn't really get good photos of the Toyota concepts. Somehow my enthusiasm started fading off..until..

This CCX70 Volvo with a retractable hard-top s'really awesome!

Not to mention women with nice top :) HAHAA

I kinda like the dress they're wearing. Exquisite and very feminine. Sexy :)

Not only do they look good on the outside, i'm sure they look good in the inside as well :)

And then, we have Volvo's spotlight -

Sexy eh? :] hot stuff !!

And so we were once again bored of the same exhibit hall and decided to leave for the next exhibit ahall - Dewan Merdeka Hall. oooh...

As we were on the way out..we spotted this -

Weird..Toyota Prius - i don't get what they're trying to display here...

Finally..we reached Dewan Merdeka..

Honda...

This car sorta reminds me of the Mazda6 - except with a much sharper look. Very nice with an even nicer interior.

This' rather interesting. The FCX concept looks rather weird..at least to me. It's like a two-door Picasso. Haha..didn't really like it in the end. Directly beside the Honda exhibition, once again we have our favourite German fleet of luxury -

Mercedes-Benz - every uncle's all time favourite luxury on wheels. This time their exhibition showcases their top of the line shitz. Behold -

The Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren - the height of performance for Mercedes.

With a price tag around 4-5 million bucks, the ultimate Mercedes rivals performances with F1 rides - due to F1-proven technology combined with Mercedes engineering.

Amazing, eh? If you haven't haerd of this beast before, go here --> Link to SLR

Coming in second in attraction, being penultimate to the SLR McLaren...

The most desirable car so far in the Mercedes fleet - CLS. AMG has finally put the gurbby little hands on it and turned it into a mean machine; boasting AMG sports suspension and what-so-ever rubbish AMG has to offer.

Now everyone wants one! It was originally set to be a limited edition car but now and somehow the people at Mercedes finally changed their mind.

Moving forward..we finally reach our final exhibit -

Next entry: Wonders on Wheels

Why next post?

Because there are just too many photos here and blogspot.com is lagging like crazy even as i type this sentence out. Besides, i'm tired and it's 2.45am in the morning already. Oh, and photo uploading in blogspot sucks.

- take care and God bless, everyone.
