Today i watched one of the few most freakish movies i would ever come across. The show: Skeleton Key.
Skeleton key is a very simple design of key which usually has a cylindrical shaft and a single flat, rectangular tooth. In the show, the skeleton key is sort of refered as a master key. Its designed to open a set of locks. In this case, the Skeleton Key movie, every door in the house. Anyways...here's my interpretation of the movie.
WARNING - SPOILER
Kate Hudson plays a nurse working in New Orleans who takes up a job from a help-wanted ad in a newspaper. Soon enough Caroline (Kate Hudson) ends up working for the Devereaux's (an old couple consisting of the husband that's suffering from a "stroke" and some old-folked lady hag) as a caretaker for the husband, a stroke victim.
Their names: Ben Devereaux (husband) and Violet Devereaux (wife). Hokay, well, as any other live-in caretaker, Violet allows Caroline with the possession of the house's skeleton key, which is claimed to open any door in the house....
...except one.
However, as Caroline (Kate Hudson - lets call her Katie o_O) explores the house, she finds a hidden door. As curiousity overwhelms Katie, Katie manages to open that door. What she found in the long run she wished she'd never found it.
She finds a healthy stack of junk and stuffs that represents the house's history of hoodoo - a traditional folk magic which originated in the southern United States.Hoodoo is meant to allow people access to supernatural forces to influence their daily lives.
For this story, the hoodoo thinga-ma-jig ritual in the movie is called the Conjur Sacrificed. It involves 2 person; the volunteer, and the sacrifice. The sacrifice will be, well, sacrificed in a way that once sacrificed, the volunteer will gain a longer life span, with the extra life span taken from whatever life time the sacrificial victim has left. Geddit?
You will if you watched the ending.
As the story moves on, Katie moves in deeper and deeper into the dark secrets of the house, and eventually finding out what this "stroke" is all about.
Katie soons discovers that Violet knows more then what Katie knew Violet would. In the end, Katie soon ends up fighting for her life with a shotgun-wielding Violet.
In the end, Katie discovers what truly this "stroke" is, but its too late. She's stuck.
If you don't like movies with non-happy/sad endings, this is not a very good choice.
The verdict, 7/10. One of the better horror movies I've watched.
After the movie at 1u and a short drink at Starbucks i headed on home, with the "pei" feeling. Got alot of stuff running through my mind. Thinking about what's gonna happen in the near future, not only concerning about my studies. Speaking of studies, my trials results managed to reach my house's mail box.
Bad.
Feeling "pei", depressed an all, i decided to just surf around the net. Suddenly something hit my mind. It was from a conversation i had yesterday (Friday) during my break in college.
Somebody: What's the Numa numa song?
Me: Huh?
Somebody else: The numa numa song! my friend called it the "most wonderful song in life" (i think she said something like that)
[Proceeds with] My Ya-Heee......My Ya-hooo....
Me: Har??
In the end, what i got was this.
